Chrome: a button to manage videos Google is introducing a button with video management commands to the right of the Chrome URL bar.
The use of videos is more and more frequent and often there are many open and overlapping windows. Now Google wants to make the control of video and audio reproduction much simpler and immediate, by introducing a button that is always easily accessible.
The button, called Global Media Controls (GMC), expands to stop and resume play-out options for any available media. This solves the problem of identifying which page is playing multimedia content when you have to interrupt or quickly resume playback, for example to answer a phone call.
It also allows the user to view information about the active media.
For now, the GMC remains is experimental functionality, but it is very probable that it will be adopted in the future. |
